This young artist from Châteaubriant often undertakes to revisit knowledge and techniques, particularly in the field of sound and light. For his first intervention in the showcase on the museum forecourt, Dominique Blais proposes a kinetic device inspired by a well-known scientific object, the gyroscope, which he associates with Newton's disc. The disk's speed of rotation depends on the intensity of external light, producing iridescent color effects. A sculpture in motion, an unusual object, this work feeds on light or its absence to make color appear or disappear, suggesting a poetic universe that resonates with what a museum is, the place of light and color.
