A complete experience

A visit to the Musée d'arts de Nantes is an experience in itself. Whether in the temporary exhibitions or the permanent collectionscartels, room texts, videos, games and podcasts are available to satisfy your curiosity. There's something for every taste and every age!

You don't have to visit the museum all at once. If you don't want to miss anything, allow several hours, but you can also wander around freely and come back from time to time.

Must-see works

The museum's collection ranges from ancient to contemporary art, and includes many internationally-renowned artists: Courbet, Delacroix, Greuze, Ingres, Kandinsky, Kapoor, La Tour, Monet, Picasso, Soulages...
The "Les œuvres incontournables" booklet, available from reception, offers two routes, in thirty minutes or one hour, to discover the museum's main masterpieces.

My visit mobile application

Discover the museum and its collections by following the thematic itinerary of your choice, or by selecting a work at your whim. This revamped audioguide features introductory texts, videos and audio content about the works and artists. There are even games for children!

Available free of charge from the museum reception desk in French, English and Spanish.

Guided tours every day

In connection with its temporary exhibitions or permanent collections, the museum offers guided tours or activities every day (or almost every day).
There's something for everyone: a 30-minute mini-tour, an Art History cycle revealing a theme from the collections, a lunchtime get-together to discover what goes on behind the scenes at the museum, or art workshops.
In July and August, a guided tour of the museum or exhibition is offered every day, with or without prior reservation.

Regular workshops and events

There are also a number of special events that give you the chance to experience the museum in a different way. European Heritage Days, Museum Night, VAN Night, as well as concerts, shows, performances, readings, lectures, meetings, art workshops... all year round in the museum's halls. The ideal Nantes outing!

Evening events every Thursday

Every Thursday evening from 7pm to 9pm, the museum is free! After work or in the early evening, take advantage of these two hours to come to the museum. Accompanied or not, it's a chance to stroll from room to room, follow a guided tour or dream in front of a favorite work.

Every Thursday evening, events and guided tours

During these evenings, the museum offers guided tours or a program of events. Concerts, performances, encounters... artistic disciplines intersect around the collections or exhibitions. These free events bring together artworks and music, theater and dance. Not to be missed!
