The Musée d'arts de Nantes is located in the heart of the city center, a stone's throw from Cathédrale Saint-Pierre, the Jardin des Plantes and the SNCF train station.

The Musée d'arts de Nantes, which has been awarded the "Accueil vélo"label, provides its visitors with a repair kit (pump, standard inner tube, universal wrenches) available free of charge on request from the museum reception desk.

The Musée d'arts de Nantes is on the itineraries of La Vélodyssée, La Loire à vélo and La Vélidéale.

The entire museum is accessible to people with reduced mobility.

A wide range of facilities and equipment ensure ease of movement and comfort for all, as well as optimum access to the works of art:

  • seating is available throughout the museum,
  • manual wheelchairs, seat canes and strollers can be loaned on request from the ticket office.

Our reception and ticketing staff are on hand to welcome you, provide information and guide you around the museum, after issuing you with an admission ticket.

For hearing-impaired people, magnetic loops
are available at the ticket office and in the
educational workshops. In the auditorium, portable magnetic loops are available on request.

The Musée d'arts de Nantes offers free admission to disabled people and their companions, on presentation of proof of disability.

To move around the museum independently

To make it easier for visually impaired visitors to move around the museum, tactile maps in relief and in Braille are available at the ticket office and on map stands on the various levels of the Palais and at the junction between the Cube and the Oratory Chapel.
The museum's elevators are equipped with protruding buttons translated into Braille, audio announcements and voice synthesis.
Guide dogs are permitted.


Security

To ensure visitor safety, the Musée d'arts de Nantes applies the preventive measures laid down by the government for cultural establishments open to the public. On arrival at the museum, all visitors are required to undergo security checks. We thank you in advance for your participation and understanding.

Safety recommendations

  • Respect the safety instructions issued by museum staff, the police and emergency services.
  • Do not leave personal belongings (bags, luggage) unattended.
  • Report any suspicious behavior, objects or luggage to the security staff present.

Changing rooms

We advise you not to bring bulky luggage, suitcases or bags. The museum does, however, provide lockers and checkrooms for groups.

Please note that items larger than 55cm x 35cm x 20cm are not allowed inside the museum.
