This very first exhibition looks at the representation of women over the centuries. With all the constraints of the history of the museum's collections, the few works chosen do not offer an exhaustive reflection on this fascinating and thorny subject, but rather a subjective and powerful confrontation leading the visitor to consider the rest of the exhibition in a different light. By bringing the works together in striking shortcuts, we playfully question our contemporary view of iconic and sacred models and the canons of beauty in female portraiture and nudes.
