A project proposed by Mire as part of the PRISME festival
This British artist filmed the dancer and writer Alexandrina Hemsley with a tight framing on the upper body. She chose to shoot at 1,000 frames per second, instead of the usual 24. This extreme slow motion focuses attention on the gesture and micro-movements of the dance. The whole is accompanied by a very low-frequency soundtrack, provoking a physical sensation in the spectator. The work is an expression of suspended time, marked by the grace of gesture.
