The museum café

Located in the heart of the Palais, the museum café welcomes visitors throughout the day for a refreshing, indulgent break, specially devised by Michelin-starred chef Eric Guérin.

Renowned in gastronomic circles and celebrated for his expertise at his restaurants “La Mare aux Oiseaux” in Saint Joachim and “Le Jardin des Plumes” in Giverny, this keen art lover and culinary aficionado invites you to savour a range of seasonal flavours from the Nantes region in this outstanding venue. His creative cuisine places the emphasis on fresh local produce, featuring two options: “Bistro food” and “Snacks”.

Open daily 11am to 7pm. Closed on Tuesdays.
Open Wednesday to Monday from 11am to 7pm. Late night opening on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8pm to 11.30pm for Bistro'Art. Closed on Tuesdays.

  • For a coffee to eat on the go, taste or just have a drink.
    From 11am to 12pm and from 3pm to 7pm every day except on Sunday.
  • Bistrot from 12pm to 3pm (without reservation, within the limits of the available tables)
    Starter + Main Course or Main Course + Dessert at 19 €
    Starter + Main Course + Dessert at 25 €.
  • Bistro'Art from 8pm to 11.30pm, with reservation only .
    Three evenings a week (Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays) for a signature menu that pays tribute to two artists each month.
    2 Starters + 1 Course + 1 Dessert at 39 €
    2 Starters + 1 Fish + 1 Meat + 1 Dessert at 49 €.
    Last order taking at 9pm. For security reasons, the restaurant closes at midnight.
  • Sunday brunch from 11 am to 3 pm at 27 € (without reservation, within the limits of the available tables).

The museum bookstore and shop

The bookstore-shop is accessible from the entrance lobby of the Palais and offers visitors to the museum, the general public, keen readers and art lovers the opportunity to find a memento to remind them of their visit to the Musée des arts de Nantes. It stocks a unique range of themed items based on the collections, temporary exhibitions and architecture of the museum. An original selection of pictures, books, postcards, stationery, games as well as more unusual items for all ages encourages you to continue to appreciate art after you have left the museum.


Open daily from 11am to 7pm, and until 9pm on Thursdays. Closed on Tuesdays.
Open from 10am in July and August.
