Opening hours

The Musée d’arts de Nantes is open daily, from 11am to 7pm, except Tuesdays.
Late-night opening all year round on Thursdays until 9pm.

Closed on 1st January, 1st May, 1st November and 25th December.

Last admissions 30 minutes before the museum closes.
Visitors are asked to leave the galleries 20 minutes before closing time.

Summer opening
From 01/07 to 31/08, from 10am to 7pm every day. Open until 9pm on Thursdays.

Les lundis 24 et 31 décembre, le musée ferme exceptionnellement ses portes à 17h.

Admission charges

All entrance tickets are valid for a whole day. Visitors can leave the museum and return to continue their visit.

Pass cards

Musée d’arts de Nantes Pass: €10
Unlimited access to the Musée d’arts de Nantes for 1 year. Free admission to all museums taking part in the summer Voyage à Nantes trail (Castle of the Dukes of Brittany, Natural History Museum, Jules Verne Museum). Pass holders have direct access to exhibition spaces and do not have to queue at the ticket office.

Inter-musées Pass: €20
Unlimited access to Nantes Métropole museums for 1 year: Musée d’arts de Nantes, Natural History Museum, Jules Verne Museum, Chronographe, Castle of the Dukes of Brittany.

To permanent and temporary exhibitions

All visitors:
- on the first Sunday of every month from September to June (or the second Sunday if the first Sunday is a public holiday or a day when the museum is closed);
- on Thursday late-night opening from 7pm to 9pm, national heritage ("Journées européennes du patrimoine") open days, during the "Printemps des musées" spring museum event, on "La Nuit des musées" museum night, and "Voyage à Nantes" (VAN) night.

Visitors aged under 18, jobseekers (registered at the Maison de l'emploi job centre), visitors on RSA income support (with proof of entitlement from the CAF), recipients of the ASPA solidarity grant for the elderly;

Visitors with disabilities and one carer;

Teachers preparing a school visit or relay teachers of the academic inspection and the rectorate.
Teachers of the art history department of the University of Nantes, French and foreigners.
Professors in visual arts attached to the academic inspection holding a PASS.

Holders of the Nantes PASS from the Tourist Office, Musée d’arts de Nantes PASS, Inter-musées PASS, holders of the “agents loisirs” (leisure) card, SPL VAN card, "Carte Blanche" card, holders of a Natural History Museum PASS, Jules-Verne Museum PASS, Castle Museum PASS, Chronograph PASS during the VAN (july-august); "Traversée Moderne d’un Vieux Pays" (a modern Cross from an old country) Pass.

Ministry of Culture staff, Musées de France scientific staff, journalists, Nantes Métropole Tourist Office guides, holders of passports for tourism professionals issued by the Loire-Atlantique UDOTSI (Departmental Union of Tourist Offices), ICOM (International Council of Museums) cardholders, representatives from France or abroad working in the political, cultural or scientific fields for special projects on behalf of third sector organisations with a letter of invitation from an elected representative for culture.

Soldiers assigned to Operation Sentinel (Vigipirate Reinforced Plan), former members of the Resistance, war veterans, and disabled ex-servicemen and women.

Reduced rate 1:
- Visitors from 18 to 25 years old, teachers, Carte Cézam and Tourisme et Loisirs 44 cardholders, holders of CE (works council) cards and partner cards, holders of “famille nombreuse” large family cards, holders of Louvre Museum friends card.

- All visitors 1 hour before closing.
- On Sundays from 2pm to 5pm, September to June, for 1 or 2 adults accompanying a child up to 18 yeard old.

For admission with a guided tour

Reduced rate 1:
- For visitors qualifying for reduced rate admission.

Payment methods accepted at the ticket office: cash, cheques, debit and credit cards, “chèque culture” vouchers.

Advertised rates may vary, subject to the discretion of Nantes Métropole Council.

Individual booking

Reservations for workshops, guided tours and concerts, as well as tickets are available at the museum ticket office. In order to reduce your waiting time on site, we advise you to come before 2pm or after 4pm.
